Everything You Need to Know About Yoga at Yonge-Dundas Square this Summer

When the sun peaks out after a harsh winter, Torontonians emerge from the indoors seeking patios, parks and outdoor activities. In the spirit of free summer events, Yonge-Dundas Square is pleased to present the return of the popular Yoga in the Square series, with mats and ambassadors provided by lululemon

lululemon ambassadors will be teaching at Yoga in the Square over 12 weeks, from June 10 until September 2, making it easier than ever to hop in on a last minute free yoga practice.

Every Monday from 12pm to 1pm, a dynamic mix of lululemon ambassadors will guide a one-hour yoga session in Yonge-Dundas Square that encourages yogis of all ages and all levels to stretch and de-stress.

Here’s everything you need to know about free Yoga in the Square this summer:

1. It’s free

Yoga can be a pretty expensive hobby, and who wants to be in a stuffy studio in the middle of summer anyways? Like every event at Yonge-Dundas Square (check out City Cinema and Indie Fridays!), Yoga in the Square is totally free! These classes will revitalize your stiff winter muscles and keep your bank account out of the equation.

2. Register in advance

Are you worried you won’t get a good spot on the square? No sweat! You can register and save your spot.

3. Mats are provided

No need to run out and buy a mat, or sift through your closet for the one you own and carrying it around all day. Mats are provided by lululemon once you arrive at Yonge-Dundas Square, so all you need to bring is yourself!

4. Come dressed and ready (no change rooms provided)

There will be no change rooms provided, so come dressed and ready to go. This can be your favorite leggings, loose fitting yoga pants or comfortable work out gear.

Check out our sponsors lululemon for inspiration!

5. All levels are welcome

Whether you are a veteran Yogi, a mid level hobbyist or a complete beginner, these practices are geared toward any and all levels. A diverse group of instructors will cater the practice to your needs and abilities, making it a refreshing practice for everyone involved.

6. lululemon instructors

The lululemon ambassadors teaching at Yoga in the Square this summer are all Toronto-based, and bring a diverse range of yoga styles from across the globe. They include Queenie and Jonathan Phair, Tara Good, Carmelinda Dimanno, and Charlotte Signman.

7. No event on Monday, July 1st

There will be no Yoga in the Square on Canada Day (Monday, July 1st) so go catch some fireworks, BBQ and all that good Canada Day stuff!

8. Rain or shine

These classes will be happening rain or shine, so get ready to be outdoors and nourish your body inside and out this summer at Yoga in the Square.

Yoga in the Square returns this summer on June 10th and will run until September 2nd. Yonge-Dundas Square events are presented by Chevrolet in collaboration with lululemon.
