World Diabetes Day (WDD) is held on the 14th day of November every year. Worldwide, many people are living with diabetes and don’t even know it! Based on statistics from Diabetes Canada, 11 million Canadians currently have diabetes or prediabetes and this is projected to rise to 14 million by the year 2027. With all this in mind, The Toronto WDD planning committee believes that our efforts to work collaboratively will raise awareness, connect community members to appropriate free services, and build a greater presence within our communities.
This year, our aim on World Diabetes Day is to celebrate and support individuals impacted by diabetes for who they are, and what they do, as they become empowered along their diabetes journey.
Come join us at Yonge & Dundas Square from 11am to 2pm for fitness, food and Fun!
